Damien Smith recognised in the Australia Day Honours List for 2020

The Enterprise Care team is thrilled to share some very exciting news.

Our Managing Director,  Damien Smith received an award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for his significant service to business as part of the 2020 Australia Day Honours.

Over the years, Damien has many achievements and provided significant service to business through a range of roles. Now these achievements have been justly recognised at this level. Damien’s dedication in the service of different communities has been rewarded with such a prestigious honour.

Damien founded Enterprise Care over 30 years ago and has focused on driving good governance for businesses, Not for Profits, and organisations in general. He has developed Governance Intelligence® Audits that helps organisations to gain insights and improve performance and governance. Damien is also Principal of Damien Smith Lawyers & Consultants.

Among a wide variety of roles, Damien is Chairman and Independent Director of Ego Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical manufacturing business operating in global markets. He is also Chairman of the Community Pharmacy Friendly Society.

Damien has also served with the Australian Security Industry Association, Australasian Society of Association Executives, Institute of Public Accountants and the Australian and Victorian Chamber of Manufactures.

Damien has also been a lecturer at Deakin University for many years and is currently running a MBA Master Class on “Whole of Governance Practice”. He has also published the annual Not for Profit Remuneration Report since 1998 and authored many publications including Directors’ Rights and Responsibilities, Work Health makes Work Sense, and Engineers and Legal Liabilities. His latest work which is to be released in March 2020 is Unintentional Dishonesty.
